Ironwork Tee by Dianna Walla from Paper Tiger

  • Size: 38.75

Happy New Year! This was my last finished project of 2020, though it seems like it wasn’t the right time to finish a tee in the middle of the winter.

I only used one out of two skeins of the Spincycle Dyed in the Wool when I worked on Andrea Mowry’s Stonecrop Cardi at the beginning of the year. I had been looking for a project that would be great with this uplifting color. Just happened one of my knitting friend made an Ironwork Tee with a similar type of yarn. So I decided to give this a try.

When I first saw this pattern, I knew I would want to increase the length. I am not a crop top person. So instead of repeating the flower pattern three times, I repeated five times. But even then, I still don’t feel like it’s long enough.

The pattern is pretty straightforward. I loved the three needles bind off. It saved the hassle to bind off twice and sew the front and back together. Two birds one stone! I think my colorwork was quite tight. The piece bunched up a bit before blocking. It got better once it was blocked.

I said it earlier I’m not a fan of crop top. And I wasn’t quite sure how to match this purple either. But, I just made this pair of slacks from Sew House Seven. I thought these two paired up quite nicely. I can’t wait till summer comes and wear this outfit!
