Rose Cardigan by Andrea Mowry

It has been awhile since I blogged.  Not that I stopped knitting.  I was so busy knitting this Rose cardigan.  One lesson learned was gauging.  This cardigan has turned out really big even I skipped half of the body on each quadrant.

I used Primrose sock yarn (from dark to light): Big Gruesome, Landslide, Embers, and Dior.  I bought a fading set from Fancy Tiger Crafts that came with one skein per color.  I had to order more Embers and Dior from a separate vendor.  Unfortunately, even with the same name, the colors didn’t match.

As you can see, I did some modification to the collar band.  I added buttons and buttonholes.

For the waist band, I used the fading colors instead of one color.

I’ve learned so much from this pattern.  Back loop increase, doing different types of stitches in a row.   I finally feel like a serious knitter!
